Cardinal Jose Advincula, the new prelate of the Archdiocese of Manila, said he is planning to set up mission stations in the Philippine capital to reach out to more faithful.
“I will see how many priests does Manila have so that we will know how many can we set up, even gradually,” said the prelate in an interview with Veritas 846.
He said young priests will most likely be given the responsibilities in the parishes because of their creativity in serving the community.
The cardinal is known for establishing mission stations and mission schools in his previous dioceses.
In the Diocese of San Carlos in the central Philippines, the prelate was able to establish three mission schools in remote areas.
Cardinal Advincula was officially installed as the 33rd archbishop of the Archdiocese of Manila, succeeding Cardinal Antonio Tagle, on June 24, 2021.
