Radio Veritas Asia launches new mobile app

Radio Veritas Asia launched on Monday, October 11, a new mobile application that aims to reach out to more audience around the world.

In his message, Cardinal Charles Maung Bo of Myanmar, president of the Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences, invited everyone to make the new app their “spiritual companion.”

Radio Veritas Asia is a media platform of the Catholic Church established by the Bishops of Asia in 1969.

Cardinal Bo said that because communication is dynamic, “we have to constantly find new ways and means to proclaim the Good News.”

The cardinal expressed hoped that the new app will be a “pastoral instrument of communication which shares the good news and touches the hearts of people who long for the liberating love of Jesus Christ.”

Michael Unland, executive director of the Catholic Media Council in Germany, described the app as a “historic milestone” that can link and reconnect many migrant workers back home.

Father George Plathottam sdb, executive secretary of the Office of Social Communication of the FABC, said the app is “an expression of our effort to respond to the new and ever-growing challenge of social communication.”

The new app, which is available both on Google Playstore and App Store, offers services in English and 21 other Asian languages.
