Photos: Community sets up ‘learning hub’ in central Philippine village

A “learning hub” rises in the village of Siha in the central Philippine province of Eastern Samar through the initiative of public school teacher Randel Algo.

It has been his dream to establish a “pag-aradman” for his poor students who cannot access learning materials especially during the pandemic.

With the help of the community, Algo was able to establish the “library” that will be used by children, who do not have access to the internet, for their “modular learning” during the health crisis.

Upon learning of the project, several individuals and groups contributed books, computers, printers, and other resources to the library in Siha, an upstream village in the outskirts of Borongan.
